Terms of Service.

1. The service

IN PLAIN TERMSStockStart is a hosted web application. You upload purchasing evidence, we turn it into a reviewed item library you can export for ServiceTitan. We sell access by monthly subscription.

These Terms are an agreement between you (the business subscribing) and Profitpin LLC (“Profitpin LLC”, “we”, “us”). They cover the getstockstart.com website, the StockStart application (“the Service”), and support. By creating an account, starting a subscription, or using the Service you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

StockStart is for businesses. You confirm you are at least 18 and authorized to bind the business you sign up for. You are responsible for everyone who uses your account and for keeping its password confidential.

2. Subscription, free month, and automatic renewal

IN PLAIN TERMSA card is required to start. Nothing is charged for 30 days. From day 31 your card is charged $129.99 every month until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account's billing page; you keep access to the end of the period you paid for.

Free month. A new subscription begins with a 30-day free trial. A valid payment card is required to start it. You will not be charged during the trial.

Automatic renewal. When the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid monthly subscription at US $129.99 per month, plus applicable taxes, charged automatically to your card on the same day each month until you cancel. There is no annual plan and no minimum term.

How to cancel. Open Manage subscription in your account and choose Cancel, or email support@getstockstart.com from your account address. Cancelling during the free month means you are never charged. Cancelling later stops the next charge; you keep access until the end of the period already paid.

Reminders. We send an email before your free month ends so the first charge is not a surprise.

Failed payments. If a charge fails, Stripe retries it for a period of days and the Service keeps working while it does, with a notice asking you to update your card. If payment is not collected, the subscription ends and the Service switches to read-only until it is restarted.

Price changes. We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number. See the Refund & cancellation policy.

3. Your uploads and your data

IN PLAIN TERMSEverything you upload stays yours. We store it so the Service can work and so you can review it; we don't sell it, train on it, or share it beyond the providers that run the Service. Delete it any time.

You own the invoices, receipts, images, spreadsheets, pricebook exports and other material you upload (“Customer Data”), and the item library and exports produced from it. You grant Profitpin LLC a license to store, process, display and transmit Customer Data only as needed to provide the Service to you, to keep it secure, and to comply with law. We do not use Customer Data to train machine-learning models or for any purpose other than serving your account.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload (for example, supplier invoices addressed to your business) and for not uploading anything unlawful or containing other people's sensitive personal information you don't need for materials tracking.

You can delete individual documents in the Service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your whole account. The Privacy Policy describes retention and backups.

4. Review is yours; ServiceTitan is theirs

IN PLAIN TERMSStockStart proposes; you approve. Nothing is written to ServiceTitan by us. What you import into ServiceTitan, and how it prices your jobs, is your decision and your responsibility.

OCR, parsing, normalization, duplicate detection and matching are automated and will sometimes be wrong. The Service is built to show its work and to flag rows it cannot resolve rather than guess. It does not certify that any item, quantity, unit or cost is correct. Before you import an export into ServiceTitan or any other system, review it.

StockStart does not connect to, read from, or write to your ServiceTitan account. It produces files in a ServiceTitan-compatible layout that you import yourself. ServiceTitan is a product of its own owner, governed by its own terms, and may change its import formats at any time; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by it.

5. Your right to use the Service

While your subscription is active (including the free month) you may use the Service for your own business's materials tracking. One subscription covers one business. You may not resell or share access outside your business, use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service, probe its security without written permission, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing product. The Service, its software and design are owned by Profitpin LLC and protected by copyright.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, to upload malware, to store material unrelated to purchasing and inventory records, or to process documents you have no right to. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section, and will tell you when we do unless the law prevents it.

7. Warranty disclaimer

IN PLAIN TERMSWe work hard on accuracy, but OCR and matching can't be promised perfect, and hosted services have outages. The Service is provided as is.

THE SERVICE AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROFITPIN LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND DOES NOT WARRANT THAT EXTRACTION OR MATCHING WILL BE ACCURATE, THAT EVERY SUPPLIER FORMAT WILL BE SUPPORTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of this may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

IN PLAIN TERMSIf something goes wrong, the most we owe you is what you paid us in the last 12 months. We aren't liable for mispriced jobs, lost margin, or other indirect losses.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PROFITPIN LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, MISPRICED ESTIMATES OR JOBS, LOSS OF DATA, OR PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. PROFITPIN LLC'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE SUBSCRIPTION FEES YOU PAID IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

9. Support, availability and updates

Support is by email at support@getstockstart.com, in English, during US business hours, on a best-effort basis; we aim to answer within one business day. We may change, add or remove features and may take the Service down briefly for maintenance. We don't promise a specific uptime, and we'll tell you about planned downtime when we can.

10. Feedback

If you send suggestions or sample supplier formats (with pricing and identifying details removed unless you choose to include them), you agree we may use them to improve StockStart without obligation or payment to you.

11. Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify Profitpin LLC against third-party claims and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Customer Data you upload, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or the law, or decisions you make based on its output. This does not apply to claims caused by our own breach of these Terms.

12. Termination

You may cancel at any time (section 2) and may ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or if payment is not collected. After a subscription ends the account becomes read-only for 30 days so you can export your library, after which we may delete Customer Data as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will email the address on your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. The current version is always at getstockstart.com/terms.html.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@getstockstart.com and give us 30 days to resolve it. Any unresolved claim will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here limits non-waivable rights under your state's consumer-protection laws.

15. General terms

Electronic communications. Notices, receipts and legal notices go to the email address on your account and count as written notice.

Availability. StockStart is offered to businesses in the United States; using it elsewhere is at your own risk and subject to local law, including export-control and sanctions rules.

Force majeure. Neither of us is liable for delays or failures caused by events outside reasonable control, including outages at our hosting or payment providers.

Assignment. You may not transfer your subscription without our consent; we may assign these Terms to a successor that takes over StockStart and will tell you if we do.

Entire agreement; severability; waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund & cancellation policy are the whole agreement about StockStart. If part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term once doesn't waive it later.

Survival. Sections 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 14 and 15 survive the end of your subscription.
